Stapleton Veterinary Hospital
A growing Veterinary Practice in the heart of a Redevelopment area had outgrown its lease space and contacted Studio DH Architecture for guidance. Located on a prominent corner entering the neighborhood, the challenge was to create an identifiable entry while still meeting the zoning requirements to locate the parking on the “back side” of the site. The sloping roof above the two-story lobby can be seen from all approaches, while the strong stone anchor wall draws patients into the heart of the clinic.
The exterior building materials are intended to reflect the palette already established for the neighborhood, as well as providing a nearly maintenance-free structure. Several enclosed yards and animal recovery yards turn unused portions of the site into useful extensions of the functions within. Skylights top the roof, bringing sun and sky into the treatment and surgery areas.
