Highlands Rescue Team Ambulance

Highland Rescue Team Ambulance District provides Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Care for the Residents of the District and those that roam the Historic Mount Vernon Valley. Founded in 1964 as the Idledale Ambulance Service, HRTAD serves the Genesee Fire Protection District and Foothills Fire Protection District, covering approximately 65 square miles, 12,500 residents, and up to 80,000 vehicles a day traversing I-70.

Studio DH Architecture’s design includes an addition incorporating an ambulance bay, training room, kitchen/dayroom, outdoor patio, dormitories, bathrooms, a parking lot for staff and visitors, and remodeling of the existing administrative office. Particular care was taken to integrate the new addition into the ‘mountain’ style architecture and existing site topography.
